Cops Stabbed in Kolkata, BJP Blames Law & Order

In a chilling incident that has raised fresh concerns over police safety in the city, two on-duty police personnel were brutally attacked with a sharp weapon in central Kolkata's North Port police station area on Saturday evening.
According to police sources, the assailant — a local flower vendor identified as Sultan — allegedly stabbed Sub-Inspector Partha Chand and Constable Sukhendu Majhi after they confronted him for substance abuse in a public space.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. during routine patrolling in the area last night. Chand sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at Kolkata Medical College and Hospital. Majhi, who was also wounded in the attack, is reported to be in stable condition.
