Another Jain idol recovered from Shilavati riverbed in Bankura

A Jain sculpture of Tirthankaras (teaching gods) was recovered from the Shilavati riverbed here by the local fishermen and has been stored in the custody of the district collector's treasury in Khatra.
The chlorite stone carved idol was stuck in the fishing net in the river between Dhansantra and Jagannathpur villages in Khatra. The district administration has planned to invite researchers to help identify the idol, especially after divided opinions of local historians and resea
