Monsoon rains set to intensify across Bengal

The monsoon is set to intensify in West Bengal, with a deep depression over the Bay moving inland and developing into a well-marked low-pressure system, according to the Alipore Meteorological Department.
Kolkata and several districts of South Bengal on Wednesday experienced overcast skies and intermittent light to heavy rainfall. More precipitation is expected in the coming days, with the intensity likely to increase. Heavy rainfall warnings have also been issued for districts in North Bengal.
