Market Extends Gain on Surprise RBI Rate Cut

At close, the Sensex was up 746.95 points or 0.92 percent at 82,188.99, and the Nifty was up 252.15 points or 1.02 percent at 25,003.05
Stock Market extended gains for a third session on Friday on a larger-than-expected rate cut by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) along with a cash reserve ratio (CRR) cut. Nifty 50 posted its best day in three weeks.
At close, the Sensex was up 746.95 points or 0.92 percent at 82,188.99, and the Nifty was up 252.15 points or 1.02 percent at 25,003.05. The broader indices ended higher with the Nifty Midcap index jumping 1.2 percent and the Smallcap index adding 0.8 percent.
