Luxury purchases, attending concerts, & sporting events-all parts of Indian globetrotters' travel plans

The wanderlust of Indians continues as strong as ever, but Indian globetrotters seem to be shifting gears with both intentional and thoughtful planning.

From shopping for local and handmade goods, making a special trip for a luxury purchase or attending concerts and sporting events, discerning Indian travellers appear to be prioritizing unique experiences, while they are vacationing.

Consider what the American Express 2025 Global Travel Trends Report suggests. The numbers are so telling. As high as 92 per cent Indians look for one-of-a-kind goods to remind them of their trip, so they have a story to share with friends and family. Nearly 84 per cent Indians say it is important for them to support local small businesses while visiting a new destination. And around 81 per cent Indians prioritise purchasing high-quality local goods (e.g., coffee beans, Persian rugs, Italian leather) on their next trip.
