Ghatak Flays Some Sections Under BNS And BNSS That May Turn Vindictive Against The Accused

West Bengal Law Minister Moloy Ghatak slammed several sections of the newly enacted Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) which replaced the old Indian Penal Code and Code of Criminal Procedure in 2023, and claimed that there were several provisions to misuse the Act against any person out of political vendetta.
Ghatak, while addressing the 'Suggestive Amendments to BNS, BNSS & BSA' organised by the Durgapur Bar Association here on Saturday afternoon, criticised certain provisions under quite a few sections of the BNSS saying: "The sections of the new Act prescribing punishment exceeding 10 y
