New Zealand defeat hosts by 60 runs in tournament opener to start campaign with a win

New Zealand made a strong start to their Champions Trophy campaign, defeating hosts Pakistan by 60 runs in a Group A clash in Karachi on Wednesday.
Chasing a target of 321 runs, the hosts put up a brave fight, riding half-centuries by Babar Azam and Khushdil Shah along with a gutsy performance by the lower-order before the Kiwi bowlers managed to dismiss them for 260 runs in 47.2 overs.
Earlier, New Zealand posted a formidable total of 320/5. The innings was anchored by brilliant centuries from Will Young and Tom Latham, who guided the Kiwis to a challenging total after early setbacks.
