Nana Patole to Fadnavis: Impeach Maha Chief Election Commissioner or else Cong will

Senior Congress MLA Nana Patole asked the Fadnavis government on Wednesday to initiate an impeachment motion against Maharashtra's Chief Election Commissioner, or else the Congress itself would do so on the very first day of the forthcoming winter session of the Maharashtra state assembly.

"The law is the same for everyone, whether it is for a Supreme Court judge or an Election Commissioner. They cannot go against the Constitution. We have proposed to the Maharashtra state government that it should initiate an impeachment motion against the Chief Election Commissioner of the state under Article 243. If the state government does not bring a motion, we will bring an impeachment motion against the State Election Commissioner on the very first day of the forthcoming winter session," Patole told media persons here on
