In a boost to India's agricultural exports, the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has facilitated the first commercial export of Geographical Indication (GI)-tagged Rewa Sundarja mangoes from Madhya Pradesh to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), opening overseas markets for the state's premium mango variety.

As per Commerce Ministry, the inaugural consignment, comprising one metric tonne of Rewa Sundarja mangoes, was shipped to the UAE on June 26 by Salt Range Foods Pvt. Ltd. The export marks the first commercial overseas shipment of the GI-tagged fruit and is expected to pave the way for regular exports in the coming years.
