Vision 2036 is a roadmap to transform Odisha into a $500 billion economy: CM

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday described the Vision Document 2036 as a "roadmap for the dreams of 4.5 crore Odias and a "promise to future generations," during a national-level seminar on Good Governance and Developed Odisha held here ahead of the first anniversary of his government.
The seminar, organized by the Department of Public Administration and Public Grievances, brought together policy experts, administrators, scholars, and sector leaders.
The CM emphasized that Odisha's transformation journey aims to position the state as a key contributor to a 'Developed India' by 2047.
Majhi said the government has committed itself to transforming Odisha into a $500 billion economy by 2036, with the longer-term goal of achieving a $1.5 trillion economy by 2047, creating 11 million new jobs and generating 5 lakh jobs annually. He called for sustained double-digit growth and a shift from an agriculture-centric economy to a more diversified, mixed economy to realize these challenging targets.
Highlighting the success of the Make in Odisha initiative, he cited investment commitments of over 17 lakh crore in just two days and underlined the government's plan to skill 13 lakh youth through the Skill-in-Odisha initiative to meet the demands of a modern industrial workforce.
