Tuition master gets 20-yr jail for minor student's rape

The Additional district Judge-cum-Special judge (POCSO), Kendrapara on Wednesday sentenced a 36-year-old tuition teacher to 20 years of imprisonment on Wednesday for committing rape of an eight-year-old girl of a village in the district three years back.

The victim girl was reading in class four in the village school at the time of the incident. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the convict Prasant Das and failure to pay which would result in his sentence being increased to a year.
