Shivakumar accuses BJP of electoral malpractice

Deputy Chief Minister and KPCC President DK Shivakumar today accused the BJP of serious electoral malpractice in the last Assembly elections, alleging that the party misused the Chilume organisation by illegally appointing 7,000 private individuals as Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
"I, along with Randeep Surjewala, fought against this malpractice and succeeded in stopping it. Rahul Gandhi also raised his voice in our support," Shivakumar told the Youth Congress state executive meeting held at the KPCC office in Bengaluru.
Shifting focus to organisation building, the Deputy Chief Minister urged young leaders to strengthen the Congress from the grassroots. "Only those who prove their strength at the booth level can grow into tall leaders in politics. If you build from there, you can rise big," he said.
