Locket slams TMC regime over Durgapur rape incident

In a sharp attack on chief minister Mamata Banerjee and Trinamul Congress over the alleged rape of a medical student in Durgapur, BJP state general secretary and former MP Locket Chatterjee on Tuesday said that if justice had been delivered in the RG Kar Medical College case, such horrific incidents would not have been repeated in Bengal.
Speaking to reporters at the party's Salt Lake office, Ms Chatterjee accused the Trinamul Congress government of shielding offenders and turning the state into a "safe haven for criminals under political protection."
