Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah takes up Scheduled Caste census ahead of giving internal quota

Karnataka is reworking its census of scheduled castes from today to collect population data of all SC subcastes and this new data will be used to ensure fair internal reservations among scheduled castes.
Declaring this on Monday, Chief Minister S Siddaramaiah said that the new data sets taken from real population figures.
The state will conduct the SC census from 5 May to 17 May, during which detailed population data of all SC subcastes will be collected.
Justice Nagamohan Das will lead this exercise, which is hoped will provide an accurate report for internal reservations.
The new data will also address the few issues of a lack of clarity in the previous reports.
