The sprawling campus of Kanyashree University turned into a vibrant hub of hope and celebration on Thursday as students, faculty, and guests came together to mark Kanyashree Day—an annual event honouring one of West Bengal's most acclaimed social empowerment schemes.
With a blend of endearing speeches, poignant stories of struggle and triumph, and cultural performances, the day's programme reaffirmed the transformative reach of the Kanyashree scheme in shaping young women's futures.
Minister of Science, Technology and Biotechnology Ujjal Biswas, who was the chief guest, lauded the vision the scheme envisaged and pledged his "unwavering support" for the infrastructural growth of the young university. "I am already working towards its progress," he assured, adding that empowering women through higher education was essential for the state's long-term development.
