High drama over Kirimira block no trust vote

There was high drama here on Thursday and Friday over the no-confidence motion against the chairperson of Kirimira block as several BJD panchayat samiti members, sarpanch and Bishal Das, son of late minister Naba Das were detained by the Chhattisgarh police and released after the deadline of voting.
The BJD cried foul as its Mission Kirimira failed. The no-trust vote was cancelled due to lack of quorum following the detention of Bishal Das and others for 16 hours.
The former BJD MLA Dipali Das had waged a war against the Kirimira block chairperson. The block chairperson and her husband were in the BJD and close to Naba Das. But after the assassination of Naba Das, the two switched over to the BJP and worked to ensure defeat of Dipali Das in the 2024 elections.
