Seeks early resolution of Mahanadi water dispute
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi met several Union Ministers in New Delhi on Wednesday, raising key issues concerning Odisha, including enhancement of rice procurement, resolution of the Mahanadi water dispute, and expansion of the Rourkela Steel Plant.
Mr Majhi had a significant meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. In what was officially termed a courtesy call, the two leaders reportedly discussed Centre-State coordination and various developmental initiatives in Odisha.
However, reliable sources indicated that Mr Majhi had a lot of explanation to do on the reported 'slow pace' of projects and the handling of certain other important issues.
