SOURCES close to former president Jacob Zuma say he is determined to retain his ANC membership as part of a broader plan to unite progressive organisations, particularly the African Transformation Movement (ATM) led by Vuyo Zungula and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) led by Julius Malema.

Inside sources reveal that Zuma is adamant about reconciling with the ANC through a new progressive alliance led by Tony Yengeni, Malema, and Zungula, among others.

Attending the book launch of his first wife, Sizakele Khumalo-Zuma, in Inanda, north of Durban, Zuma confirmed to listeners that, although he would never campaign for the ANC under its current leadership, he intends to keep his membership and is prepared to take legal action if the party attempts to remove him.
