Senzo Meyiwa Case: Lead investigator back in hot seat

THE lead investigator in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial has returned to the witness stand amid renewed scrutiny and controversy, as the State admitted on Tuesday that crucial vehicle tracking reports requested by the defence are “not available.”
Brigadier Bongani Gininda, the lead investigator in the high-profile case, resumed testimony in the Gauteng High Court following a tense period of delays and legal wrangling.
The trial, which has captivated the nation for years, centres on the 2014 murder of Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa, who was gunned down at the Vosloorus home of his girlfriend, singer Kelly Khumalo. In yesterday's proceedings, defence counsel pressed Gininda on various aspects of the police investigation, including inconsistencies in witness statements and the alleged suppression of key evidence.
