Valiants wait for news on defender after Trophy win

DARREN Moore was happy to negotiate a tricky Vertu Trophy Group stage tie at Accrington Stanley - but it came at a cost.
The Valiants boss saw his men labour to an eventual 2-0 win and they only scored after Stanley, fifth bottom from League Two, had gone down to 10 men when Ben Ward was sent off for a challenge on Ronan Curtis.
Goals from defender Connor Hall and striker Mo Faal won the clash which sent Vale through to the knockout stages, with the next match against Fleetwood determining who will go through as group winners. Vale are top by two points and will seal top spot as long as they avoid defeat in 90 minutes.
But Kyle John sustained what looked like a nasty ankle injury and he immediately signalled to come off after being felled by a tackle from Paddy Madden six minutes into the second half.
