Up to £20m funding could be 'truly transformational sum'

Funding boost for 'left behind' area
ONE of the most deprived estates in Stoke-on-Trent is to receive up to £20 million over the next decade.
Bentilee has been chosen as one of 25 so-called 'trailblazer neighbourhoods' as part of a new fund announced in Rachel Reeves' Spending Review yesterday.
The Government has selected poverty-hit areas across the UK - including in Stoke-on-Trent, Hull, Blackpool and Newcastle-upon-Tyne - for investment.
Full details of how the money will be spent have not yet been revealed.
However, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government says the cash is aimed at helping places 'that have been too easily left behind are no longer ignored.
