Two wins on bounce has manager Kelly eyeing a title charge

ECCLESHALL boss Liam Kelly has an eye on the North West Counties First Division South title.

An opening day defeat at Stafford Town has been followed by two home wins, against Foley Meir (2-1) and Allscott Heath (1-0), for his side.

Now the manager, right, wants to push on and see if the team can go at least one better than last season when they reached the playoff semifinal.

“You are daft if you say you don’t want to win the league, but it's a tough ask in our league to win it,” maintained Kelly.

“But | don’t see the point of turning up on a Saturday if you don’t want to aim for that, so why not?”

He’s happy so far and added: “It’s really good and we're playing well.

“To be honest, even the first game we were a little bit unlucky. We missed a penalty at 1-0 and | think if that had gone in we would have nicked something.

“Considering we have had such a big rebuild, I’m happy.

“We lost seven players from last season but it’s gone to plan really, so | can't complain one bit.”
