Jail for attacker branded danger to the public
DANGEROUS thug Jayke Pender-Lovatt blinded a man in one eye after punching him in a town centre bar.
The 32-year-old, who has previous convictions for violence, walked into Priscilla's Bar in Burslem just after midnight on August 18 last year.
About an hour later he barged into a man on the dance floor. Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard the man's cousin noticed what happened, walked to Pender-Lovatt and raised both hands above his head. Pender-Lovatt interpreted that as a hostile act and hit him with a powerful uppercut to his head. The blow knocked him to the floor and left him blinded in one eye. He then struck the other man he initially barged into. Now Pender-Lovatt has been handed a 40-month extended sentence, made up of 20 months custody with an extended licence period of 20 months.
