Thousands complain about mouldy homes

Council carries out 16,595 jobs in response
ALMOST 12,000 council house tenants have complained about living in damp and mouldy properties.
City council data shows complaints were received from tenants in 11,955 properties during the 17 months between August 2023 and January this year.
They resulted in 16,595 jobs - including mould washing, painting, plastering and fan repairs - being completed. Seventy-two tenants have had to leave their homes owing to the state of the properties.
A total of 860 'disrepair claims' have been lodged between April 2023 and January 2025.
