Samantha, 76, set for 14-day, 200-mile charity hike

A 76-YEAR-OLD woman is embarking on a gruelling 200-mile walk to raise funds for homeless people after being 'flabbergasted' by the number of city centre rough sleepers.
Samantha Journet will hike the Camino de Santiago - a traditional pilgrimage route from Porto in Portugal to Santiago in Spain - over 14 days.
The Birches Head pensioner, who will be accompanied by her niece Fran, is hoping to raise thousands of pounds through the challenge for the Potteries' Macari Foundation charity.
She said: "After retiring, I had more time on my hands and started to visit Hanley more, and I was absolutely flabbergasted by the number of homeless people there.
