KIDSGROVE duo Daniel Roberts and Kane Lowton made light of a potentially tricky target to power their side to victory at Stafford seconds in NSSCL Division Four.

- Chris Travers

Grove were left chasing 188 for victory in the second half of the weekend contest - and romped to a 10-wicket win inside 31 overs.

Roberts led the charge with an unbeaten 112, which contained 16 fours and two sixes, while Lowton struck 11 boundaries in his 71 not out.

Earlier in the day, Yasir Siraj had compiled 52 not out, featuring six fours and one six, in Stafford's 187-8 from their 40 overs.

Andy Hopwood and Joe Gilbert chipped in with 23 apiece, with Paul Darmody adding 22.

Joel Brierley captured 3-24 for Grove and there were a couple of wickets for Muhammad Chaudary.

It was then left to Roberts and Lowton to deliver a batting masterclass to complete an easy success.

Burslem seconds were also 10-wicket winners, but had a much lower total to chase at Knypersley 2nd XI.

Knype collapsed to just 35 all out in the formative stages as Syed Haider Bukhari 94-12), Adam Ainsworth 93-9) and Wasim Ahmed (3-12) did the damage.
