Quality surprises new Vale players, says Shanahan

CAROL Shanahan believes the new players at Port Vale have been surprised by the high level of coaching given by Darren Moore’s management team.

Moore has been the obvious draw for players - and Shanahan was fully aware of that when she installed the former Sheffield Wednesday manager at the helm.

She had the same buzz when he joined the club and speaking to the club’s media team she said: “They [the players] feel no differently to how I felt in getting him here in the first place. I knew the football club we wanted to grow and to build needed Darren Moore to build it.

“You will hear Darren and myself say, ‘we are not just building a team, we are building a club’ and these players are joining a club.
