Porch pirate travelled across Staffordshire stealing parcels
The Sentinel
|September 23, 2025
BURGLAR Robert Martin travelled around Staffordshire stealing parcels left outside people’s homes.
The 38-year-old smashed his way into a porch in Keele to steal a bicycle and stole parcels from inside a lobby in Burslem.
He also stole parcels from outside addresses in Baddeley Green, Stafford, Stone and Birches Head. Now Martin has been jailed for 16 months at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.
Prosecutor Jessica Foster said a woman ordered a parcel to be delivered at her home in Baddeley Green Lane, Baddeley Green, on April 14 and received a notification to say it had been delivered.
But when she returned she found it was missing. She checked her CCTV which showed it being stolen.
The parcel was valued at £30. Martin was identified by police.
On June 8 a resident of The Village, Keele, heard a smashing sound at 1.50am and saw a man running down the drive with his bike.
