Trust to investigate if parents get in touch
CARE: Willow-Rose Sparkes spent five days in the Royal Stoke. Below, with mum Paige.
FIRST-TIME parents have criticised a hospital over the treatment of their daughter.
Paige O'Reilly and Jordan Sparkes have branded the Royal Stoke University Hospital service 'disgusting'.
Little Willow-Rose Sparkes was just a few weeks old when she was admitted to A&E after her breathing became strained and she spent days in the hospital as doctors tried to identify the root of the problem.
But her parents say the medical experts missed a glaringly 'obvious' issue.
The trust that runs Royal Stoke is now urging them to make contact so their concerns can be discussed.
Paige, of Blurton, said: "We took her to A&E and a doctor said that it could be sepsis.
"They did blood work and sent us to the children’s assessment unit.
"I told them she was struggling to breathe, had a rash, and was refusing to feed.
