OAP hid £91k from HMRC in shoeboxes

Now he's set to lose all the cash through proceeds of crime
POLICE raided an OAP's home and discovered £91,020 stashed away in two shoeboxes.
They discovered the cash had not been disclosed to HMRC by Joseph Loforte and the money was seized. Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard the Ball Green raid happened in August 2022.
Tariq Shakoor, prosecuting, said: "A cash sum of £91,020 was recovered from the defendant's home address, Bemersley Farm. He accepts criminality and says the money found was nothing to do with drugs - the prosecution agrees with that - and said the money was seized from his legitimate income.
