A&E nurse is being treated for rare blood cancer at the hospital where she works
ORDEAL: Lisa Blakeman, left, who works at the Royal Stoke's A&E.
A&E nurse Lisa Blakeman is being treated for a rare blood cancer - at the hospital where she works.
The 39-year-old single mum has juggled working at the Royal Stoke University Hospital accident unit with bringing up her two boys.
Now she has been diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Lisa, of Meir Park, said she never expected to be diagnosed with cancer 'at such a young age!
"My life fell apart in a minute," she said. "It collapsed completely. I still don't really know what to do with myself now. It's been a totally life-changing development.
"I've always been quite a fit and healthy person. I work in a busy ward, then I come home to run after my kids. Taking them to football, dancing, drama, whatever else I need to do. I know I was feeling a bit ill for the past year, but at no point did I ever expect it could be cancer."
