Moore: Valiants just didn't get going in the second half'

DARREN Moore admitted the second-half performance from his Port Vale team cost them as they allowed Doncaster Rovers to steal the points.
There was little energy in a flat display on Saturday after the break and Moore recognised it in his post-match interview with Vale TV.
Now Vale take on Birmingham City, tonight, in the Carabao Cup second round at St Andrew's.
On the Rovers clash, Moore reflected: "In the second half we didn’t really get going. It was another good game and another tough game and a game that, in parts, certainly more maybe with the chances we fashioned, we made some real good chances.
"And the areas we got into in the first half were good.
"For whatever reason, the game just ebbed and flowed in the second half without us really doing much. I think the most notable effort was probably Ronan Curtis’ header that went wide.
"He had long enough to look at it when he came in. But he headed wide of the post.
"I just thought in areas in the second half our quality was missing. And it meant the second half just petered out. It was disappointing, three points dropped after being in control certainly in the first half."
He continued: "When the game petered out it probably played more into Doncaster’s hands in terms of not having the energy.
