LEEK TOWN made it back-to-back home wins with a 3-1 victory over Warrington Town on Monday in the Northern Premier League top flight.
The Blues raced out of the blocks and took the lead in the second minute. Liam Buckley, on his 100th game for the club, went down the right and pulled the ball back to Ollie Shenton and he curled a fine effort into the corner of the net.
Two minutes later Shenton had another chance only to be denied by keeper Liam Isherwood.
Adam Porter also had a shot saved by Isherwood as Leek were well worth their half time lead, which they doubled eight minutes after the break.
Julius Ndene had a shot saved by Isherwood, the rebound was also blocked, but Hayden Campbell slammed home the loose ball.
Warrington hit back and Xander Parke saved from Dontai Gabbidon before they pulled a goal back in the 64th minute.
Bohan Dixon slid over a low cross and Gabbidon poked the ball into the net.
Four minutes later Leek restored their two-goal advantage. Alex Hurst picked the ball up in midfield and drove forward before firing a low shot into the corner.
In the West Division STAFFORD RANGERS moved into second place with a 2-1 victory over NANTWICH TOWN at the Stan Robinson Stadium.
The Boro went in front after just 35 seconds. Callum Wilson burst clear down the right and his subsequent cross was steered home by Zidan Sutherland.
Nantwich eventually got going and in the 26th minute Aidan Roxburgh chipped the ball to Perry Bircumshaw and his effort was well saved by Arron Davies.
Rangers doubled their lead a minute before the interval. Wilson sent over another cross to the far post where Birch was unmarked to tap the ball into the net.
The Dabbers pulled a goal back in the 73rd minute. Alex Panter headed against the post, but Byron Harrison was on hand to net the rebound.
Davies made two excellent close-range saves to make sure Stafford picked up their fourth win in five games.
KIDSGROVE ATHLETIC are up into fourth thanks to a late winner earning them a 1-0 home win over CONGLETON TOWN.
