The Sentinel
|May 26, 2025
CALEB Mierkalns went on a run rampage as Whitmore eased into the second round of the Vince Lindo Twenty20 Cup at Leycett’s expense.
-
Mierkalns blazed seven fours and 12 sixes in a 34-ball 108 to set Whitmore on their way to a mammoth 221-7.
Saad Qureshi was also in big-hitting mood as he smashed 66 not out, including seven fours and four sixes. Isaac McDonald took two wickets.
Leycett were never in contention to knock off the runs and they drew stumps on 87-4.
Tom Warburton and McDonald chipped in with 27 and 22 not out respectively, while there were a couple of scalps for Bilal Hussain.
Niall Hassett was also on the ton trail as Bignall End prevailed in their home clash against Knypersley.
Hassett hit his first three balls for six on his way to 107 to form the backbone of Bignall End’s 201-3.
