Manager is refusing to see red over Vale sending-off
The Sentinel
|August 19, 2025
DARREN Moore heaped praise on his players after they earned a battling point at Burton Albion with 10 men.
George Byers' sending off after 15 minutes meant his Vale players had a mountain to climb, and on another day they could have nicked all three points.
"Credit to the players for coming through 88 minutes with 10 men in a game where we had to face a little bit of adversity in terms of the readjustment to the sending off," Moore said.
"I thought they acquitted themselves really well. There was a real trust and a belief in each other. The way they went about their business all afternoon.
"Not only dealing with the setback, but the times we took the game to Burton looking to go and force a winning goal.
"But as I said it wasn’t to be, but we didn’t give Burton anything to hang their hat on and it was a wonderful team display off the ball."
