'Lots of emotions and memories... this feels like I'm back at home'

THERE'S no feeling quite like when a fan-favourite makes a return to the club where they made their name - and it’s safe to say everyone in and around Stoke City has been abuzz ever since Steven Nzonzi’s comeback was confirmed.
A decade on from his exit from the Potters, the former French international and World Cup winner is back and ready to work under Mark Robins.
Of course, 10 years on the now 36-year-old is not the same player he was when he last wore the red and white stripes, but he’s hungrier than ever to make an impact and help get Stoke back to the riches of the Premier League.
After his return was finally confirmed last week, Nzonzi spoke out on what it means to him, and, to simply put it, he seems ecstatic to be back.
In an interview with the Stoke City media team, the Frenchman expressed: “I'm very happy, alot of emotions and a lot of memories, some very good memories here. So it feels like I'm back home. I’m quite excited and I’m very happy to be back.
“The timing was right, I always felt aconnection with the club. I played with the sporting director (Jonathan Walters) who was in touch the last couple of years with my dad.
