A STOKE-ON-TRENT boxer with a famous dad is preparing for a homecoming bout after making his professional debut.

Lewis ready to box clever on big night on home turf

Lewis Lawton has been given the chance to box in his home city on the undercard of Nathan Heaney's show at the King's Hall in Stoke tonight.

The 21-year-old super welterweight, from Fenton, was an outstanding amateur, a journey which culminated in him winning the prestigious Haringey Box Cup in 2024 and made his professional debut in March this year, blowing away the normally durable Estonian Artjom Spatar inside a round.

It was a sparkling start to life in the paid ranks and has increased the already high expectations on the young talent.

Standing at 6ft 1in and weighing in at 70kg, Lewis - who has signed a promotional deal with powerhouse Queensbury - said: "I didn’t really get a chance to show what I can do, as it was over so quickly, but getting a stoppage on your debut on a huge show is all that you can really hope for.
