MARION MCMULLEN CHATS TO LOOSE WOMEN’S JANET STREET-PORTER, 78, ABOUT ROYAL APPROVAL

LETTING LOOSE

What is it like appearing on more than 1,000 episodes of Loose Women? I NEVER watch myself and I never count the episodes, but I love doing a live show.

You can’t take it back, it’s not scripted, you just do it.

We have a subject and we talk about subjects that people are interested in.

Queen Camilla watches Loose Women as well. Denise Welch and I went to this reception at Clarence House for a charity called SafeLives and one of the Queen’s ladies came up and said, “Oh, we've got Loose Women on record”

‘The Queen is a very easy person to talk to and very down to Earth.

She is a very intelligent and personable woman and deals well with being on public show all the time.

I find it difficult going around the shops and people looking into my trolley, but that’s nothing compared to what the Queen has to deal with.

What is it like having a senior railcard and four ex-husbands?

Part of me can’t believe I’m a pensioner. The only thing that tells me is I feel it in my right knee.

I've had my left hip replaced and my left knee.

(Laughs) I'll end up with all my joints being replaced at this rate.

I couldn't be more bionic.

I used to do a lot of walking series with the BBC and I had a gym in my house and a personal trainer.

I did a lot and now the cartilage in my joints is all gone.

(Laughs) I won't be doing a song and dance routine on tour.
