Long-serving midfielder Thompson says he is leaving Stoke with some incredble memories
JORDAN Thompson admits leaving Stoke City wasn't his decision as he pays tribute to the club and the support he has received over the last five-and-a-half years.
Thompson became Michael O'Neill's first signing for Stoke when he joined from Blackpool for a nominal fee back in January 2020. He went on to make 178 appearances, mostly in central midfield but also filling in at left-back, and he has been the club's longest-serving first team squad player over the last couple of seasons.
The Northern Ireland international, now aged 28, has now been released alongside Lynden Gooch, Enda Stevens and Michael Rose as Mark Robins prepares ground for his first summer transfer window as manager.
