PORTHILL Park fifths youngster Isaac Willis made a stunning start to the NSSCL Division Seven campaign.

Willis compiled an excellent century to help his side to a fine victory over Hem Heath fourths. Porthill Park were chasing 224 for victory on their road trip - and Willis relished the challenge.

He made 124 not out, hitting 20 fours and three sixes, to guide Porthill Park to a seven-wicket success with three-and-a-half overs to spare.

Ranvir Singh (24) and Isaac Steventon (22) kept Willis company in the successful chase. Earlier in the day, half-centuries from Tahir Akram and Sebastian Lewis led Hem Heath to 223-9 from their allocation.

Akram's 71 featured five fours and two sixes, while Lewis stroked 13 boundaries in his 60.

Charlie Leese and Alex Emery chipped in with 24 not out and 23 respectively.

Paul Allman (3-37) and Sam McCambridge (3-46) did the damage with the ball for Porthill Park, while there were a couple of scalps for Balachandran Magiban.
