Singer, 23, starts solo career

- Jacob Grattage

CITY song-writer and music artist Jorge Wilson has released his much anticipated debut single.

'Falling In Love' was out at the end of last month and has already earned glowing online reviews.

The 23-year-old - who is inspired by the music he grew up listening to at his grandparents' house in Blurton - said: "I've tried to capture the nostalgic vibe but I've also tried to create something new at the same time."

He said the single is 'modern vintage,' drawing inspiration from 1980's artists like Michael Jackson and Tears For Fears as well as recent indie chart toppers The 1975 and Steve Lacy.

The song has been featured on BBC Stoke, after being picked up by local radio host Andrew Marston during a BBC Introducing radio show earlier last month.

Jorge, from Trentham, said that appearing on the BBC was extremely rewarding.

He said: "It can be a bit of a gamble sometimes, whether a song is going to get much radio play, so it was great to get it on there."
