FAMILIAR faces have transformed a popular curry house into a swanky new Indian restaurant with a twist.
Brothers Mamun 'Maz' Miah, 37, and Masoom Uddin, 24, have been passed the mantle from their father, Moyeen Uddin, who owned the former Masooms Massala in Congleton Road, Butt Lane, for decades.
The brothers originally from Newcastle would visit the restaurant most days as children, and they have now renovated the venue - rebranding it The Maharaj.
On the outside, it's been transformed from white to a modern dark grey, and on the inside are hues of purple to represent regality with a contemporary setting cast by the different lighting variations.
