The Valiants played almost the entire game against 10 men and left their home supporters frustrated, only to find a last-gasp winner from the penalty spot to emerge 2-1 victors.

“We made hard work of it, obviously,” said Curtis.

“They were down to 10 men, we had a lot of possession and a load of chances but we were just grateful we got three points back to back now so it's something to build on”

Allowing Mansfield to score with their one and only shot on target throughout the contest was another lapse in concentration, this time as Connor Hall allowed goalscorer Rhys Oates to come inside.

These type of points could mean big prizes for Potters

THE Championship is famously competitive but it is genuinely even more tight than usual after a third of this season. If you take out the leaders and the bottom six, teams’ points hauls so far are significantly closer than is normally expected at this stage.
