It's failed to hit Government targets over last three years
COUNCIL chiefs have agreed a new plan for building more homes in Stoke-on-Trent - after failing to hit increasing Government targets.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council had to prepare an action plan after housing delivery in the Potteries fell below 95 per cent of the requirement set by the Government.
In the three years up to 2022/23, a total of 1,397 homes were built in Stoke-on-Trent, compared to the target of 1,536. According to an analysis carried out by consultants from Tetra Tech, Stoke-on-Trent faces challenges such as a lack of available sites and low house prices reducing the viability of some developments.
