BEN'S SHOW OF STRENGTH

JOY: Stoke City midfielder Ben Pearson celebrates putting the Potters ahead in their victory over Swansea on Saturday.

Pearson was 10 months into a painful stay in the treatment room when Robins was appointed manager back on January 1 and that bad hamstring injury that would keep him out for a few further weeks yet.

The midfielder, aged 30, needed surgery, had a major setback and he had to be eased carefully back into the squad once he finally got the green light.

He has now made 10 starts this season as he has continued to try to get back to consistently his highest level - and he scored his first goal for the club with a sweet and vital strike to make the breakthrough in a 2-1 win over Swansea.

Robins does not take his journey back to becoming a key player lightly.
