Himanta: Land acquisition hurdle in Assam's development

ASSAM Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday said that acquiring land for projects is a major hurdle for the state.

Sarma claimed that he currently has investment proposals of Rs 1 lakh crore but the projects are not being implemented due to unavailability of land.
He said people must be made to understand the benefits of having industries, especially the employment opportunities it will provide to the youth.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP's state office here on the 11th anniversary of the Narendra Modi-led central government, Sarma said, "At times, we don't remember how it was here before. The people who have seen Assam before 2014 and now in 2025 have seen the difference."
