Excise policy: HC to hear on August 12 Kejriwal, Sisodia’s pleas challenging chargesheet cognisance

THE Delhi High Court on Monday listed for hearing on August 12 petitions by AAP leaders Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia against the trial court's decision to take cognisance of the Enforcement Directorate's chargesheet in the alleged excise policy scam.

Counsel appearing for the Enforcement Directorate (ED) said the petitions, filed in 2024, were infructuous as the agency had received the requisite sanction.
"We have the sanction. Sanction is filed in court," said Additional Solicitor General S V Raju before Justice Ravinder Dudeja.
The Union Home Ministry had granted sanction to the ED to prosecute AAP national convenor Kejriwal and other accused in the excise policy-linked money laundering case in January this year.
