The bold reset, this time?
The Philippine Star
|November 18, 2025
Weeks after the election debacle of his Senate candidates in May, President Marcos said the people had spoken and “we hear them, and we will act.”
-
“It’s time to realign the government with the people’s expectations. This is not business as usual,” the President said as he ordered his Cabinet members to tender their courtesy resignations. “We cannot afford to be complacent. The time for comfort zone is over.”
The order would be followed days later with orders from Malacañang for other officials in the executive branch, down to bureau chiefs, to also submit their courtesy resignations.
Malacañang called it a “bold reset” from the early phase of the Marcos administration — meaning it would be “sharper, faster, and fully focused on the people’s most pressing needs... the evolving needs of the country require a renewed alignment, faster execution, and a results-first mindset.”
