Senate earmarks P62.6 B for zero-balance billing program

An estimated 18 million Filipinos are expected to benefit from a Senate move to allocate P62.6 billion for the Department of Health (DOH)'s zero balance billing (ZBB) program next year, Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian said.
The 2026 National Expenditure Program initially set aside P53.3 billion for the ZBB, projected to cover 16 million patients in DOH-run hospitals.
