Remolona gets A-rating for 2nd consecutive year

New York-based Global Finance magazine has named Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Eli Remolona Jr. among the world's best central bankers after awarding him an "A-" rating for a second straight year.
In its 2025 Central Banker Report Cards, the publication lauded Remolona's performance in balancing inflation control, economic growth, currency stability and interest rate management while maintaining the BSP's independence amid global uncertainties.
Global Finance founder and editorial director Joseph Giarraputo said most central bankers have spent the years battling inflation with higher interest rates.
"As inflation recedes, we're beginning to see the results of those tough policy decisions," Giarraputo said.
